Forwards:
Pavol Demitra (Center)

Proved to be one of the NHL's most offensively gifted players by scoring 93 points on a Blues team depleted for much of the year...is close to a point-per-game player over his career and seems to have shook the injury bug which should again have him approaching the 100-point barrier. Projection: 37 goals, 55 assists, 92 points.
Keith Tkachuk (Left Wing)

Scored 31 goals in only 56 games, which would have had him approaching 50 had he played a full year without any injuries...as is his norm, will provide upwards of 35 goals and a bucket load of penalty minutes. Projection: 41 goals, 40 assists, 81 points.
Doug Weight (Center)

Injuries slowed Weight down considerably, but the slick center still found a way to accumulate 67 points in 70 games, good for third in team scoring...is still an elite playmaker who is fully capable of leading the league in assists if injuries don't catch up to him again. Projection: 18 goals, 61 assists, 79 points.
Petr Cajanek (Left Wing)

Was enjoying a fabulous and productive first year in North America when a broken leg sidelined him for much of the final two months...made the transition from European hockey effortlessly and should put up good numbers on the Blues' second or third line. Projection: 17 goals, 38 assists, 55 points.
Scott Mellanby (Right Wing)

Surprisingly, Mellanby continued a career resurgence during his twilight years approaching totals that he set almost a decade earlier...won't duplicate or surpass last year's totals but will still get the job done if he remains on the team's top line. Projection: 21 goals, 25 assists, 46 points.
Defenseman:
Chris Pronger (Defense)

Missed most of the regular season with unrelated wrist and knee injuries but returned for the final four games in which he notched three points...reportedly healthy, Pronger is a good bet to take his rightful spot near the top of the list of the league's defenseman. Projection: 09 goals, 40 assists, 49 points.
Al MacInnis (Defense)

A Norris trophy finalist, MacInnis had his best offensive season since 1993 by scoring 68 points to lead all NHL defenseman...39 years of age and counting, expect his production to slip back into the 50-point range, especially with Pronger back. Projection: 15 goals, 33 assists, 48 points.
Goalies:
Chris Osgood (Goalie)

Acquired at the NHL's trade deadline, Osgood started his Blues career with a shutout but it then went all downhill from there...is not a true #1 goalie and will be a liability in the SV% department, but the Blues high powered offense will bail him out now and again. Projection: 26 wins, 2.57 GAA, .894 SV%.
Brent Johnson (Goalie)

Johnson was supposed to be the man in St. Louis, but a pre-season ankle injury caused him to miss significant action and a late season implosion robbed him of all confidence...is probably a better goalie than Osgood, but is hard pressed to get another chance by the organization. Projection: 15 wins, 2.43 GAA, .899 SV%.
Big Year Alert: Chris Pronger. One of the NHL's top three defenseman before injuries wiped out his last season, Pronger could challenge for Norris trophy if he stays healthy.
Don't draft: Brent Johnson. Johnson has run out of chances with the Blues' organization and may still not get another opportunity even if Chris Osgood disappoints.
Keep your eye on: Petr Sejna. The rookie left winger is a lock to make the Blues team and has meshed smoothly with Doug Weight. He could challenge for the Calder trophy this year.
Injury risks: Chris Pronger (moderate), Doug Weight (minor), Keith Tkachuk (minor).
