Forwards:
Ladislav Nagy (Left Wing)

Matured into the team's top forward last year and led the Coyotes in scoring from start to finish in what was a low-key yet fabulous year...relishes the fact that he's Phoenix's go-to guy and if he ever starts scoring, could make the jump to beyond 70 points. Projection: 28 goals, 37 assists, 65 points.
Daymond Langkow (Center)

Turned it on during the season's final 20 games or so and it wasn't a coincidence that it was after Daniel Briere got traded...will assume the team's top center slot and should respond with an improved offensive season. Projection: 23 goals, 36 assists, 59 points.
Shane Doan (Right Wing)

Couldn't match his 01/02 seasonal totals, Doan was given more icetime than the year before and his production not surprisingly increased...durable and consistent, he is a lock for 50-60 points while not hurting in any other important category. Projection: 24 goals, 34 assists, 58 points.
Mike Johnson (Right Wing)

Career was headed in the wrong direction, when he came out of nowhere to explode with career highs in goals, assists and points...it's probably asking too much for him to further improve on his totals, but can contribute 50 points in the right circumstances. Projection: 19 goals, 30 assists, 49 points.
Chris Gratton (Center)

Acquired via trade with the Sabres late into last season, Gratton bombed bigtime with just one assist in 14 games with his new team...overrated ever since he was drafted as a highly touted prospect, you're better off avoiding Gratton. Projection: 15 goals, 25 assists, 40 points.
Defenseman:
Paul Mara (Defense)

Hasn't developed as the Coyotes had hoped he would, Mara did contribute a career high 10 goals from the blueline - a commendable feat on the weak Coyotes team...with Teppo Numminen gone, Mara is the consensus choice to quarterback the Coyotes powerplay. Projection: 9 goals, 25 assists, 34 points.
David Tanabe (Defense)

Got progressively worse with each of his seasons in Carolina, culminating with only 13 points last season...gets a fresh start in Phoenix and could harness his incredible potential alongside defense coach Paul Coffey. Projection: 6 goals, 24 assists, 30 points.
Goalies:
Sean Burke (Goalie)

Though he saw only limited action due to separate injuries, Burke posted his third consecutive sensational season with GAA and SV% near the league's leaders...staying healthy will no doubt be key, but Burke is not too far off from being an elite NHL goalie. Projection: 25 wins, 2.27 GAA, .924 SV%.
Brian Boucher (Goalie)

Stepped into the starter's role after Burke went down with an injury, Boucher failed to deliver and subsequently lost his #1 job to Zac Bierk...his status with the team is so shaky that he may be the odd man out when the season starts. Projection: 3 wins, 2.90 GAA, .907 SV%.
Zac Bierk (Goalie)

After much hardluck early in his career, Bierk stepped up and dazzled while Burke was out before an injury of his own put a damper on his season...could start the season in the ever important role as Burke's backup, insurance policy, whatever you want to call it. Projection: 10 wins, 2.56 GAA, .917 SV%.
Big Year Alert: Daymond Langkow. Should get top notch icetime both on even strength and on the powerplay as the team's #1 center.
Don't draft: Chris Gratton. One assist in his 14 games with the Coyotes should immediately raise red flags.
Keep your eye on: Sean Burke. The veteran goalie could become trade bait later on in the year if Phoenix decides to keep youngsters Brian Boucher and Zac Bierk.
Injury risks: Sean Burke (major).
